As children, our innocence keeps us blind from the world surrounding us. This innocence is like a shield. A shield that protects us from what we aren’t ready for. As you grow up, your perspective starts to change. When you get older you start to notice things that you were previously blind to. You start to notice yourself more, and when you do that you start to experiment. During this stage in your life you really begin to understand yourself. Before you were just a child unaware of what could be. Your future has never crossed your mind until now. When you often think about your future and where you want to be and go, then you no longer give yourself chances to make childish mistakes. The constant worrying about the next outcome is an adult thing.
Children aren’t worried about the consequences of their actions, for the most part. Children just want to enjoy their time and have fun. They don’t have the burden of adulthood. This is because they haven’t been introduced to these possibilities yet. The moment that happens though, when they will cease to be considered children. Every action, every decision has a consequence now. You now don’t have the luxury of making mistakes. Life isn’t a game anymore. If you make the wrong mistake there’s no coming back. As adults you’re under constant pressure to preserve your life and maintain a healthy future, for not only you but your children. As an adult you can’t afford to take long breaks, if any at all.
You are no longer that naive child who could make terrible decisions without major consequences. You’re grown now. You’re different, the world sees you differently, you have responsibilities now. There is no longer time for fun and games. It’s now about what you can do and how you’re going to do it. The moment your eyes opened up, you were longer a child.
